Certain psychological factors have to also come into play. There is no specific alcoholic personality, but people do have to drink to become alcoholic. Ultimately it will take more of the drug to produce the same effect. As you take in more of the drug, the cells counteract even further. This is a vicious cycle called tolerance. You will find that you were using more of the drug now than when you started.
